About Gulf Coast Power Association
Gulf Coast Power Association (GCPA) is the premier educational and networking association promoting understanding of the issues and opportunities impacting power markets. Since 1983, the Gulf Coast Power Association (GCPA) has been a key player in Texas and the Gulf Coast, functioning as a regional electric power trade organization dedicated to enhancing awareness of the challenges and opportunities in today’s power markets. With a diverse membership of corporate and individual members across all segments of the electric power industry, GCPA serves as a vital hub for professionals. Its popular Spring and Fall Conferences are the largest regional gatherings, attracting over 1,300 attendees each year. GCPA also hosts the annual MISO SPP Regional and emPOWERing Women Leadership Conferences, along with regular Virtual Forums and specialized workshops on relevant topics. By prioritizing exceptional educational and networking experiences, GCPA has built a strong reputation as a leading educator in the region's competitive power markets. Gulf Coast Power Association was originally formed in Houston in 1983 as the Gulf Coast Cogeneration Association The association name was changed officially in 1995 to Gulf Coast Power Association (GCPA). GCPA membership has increased steadily over the years, both in numbers and in the diversity of industry segments represented. The GCPA Mission is to promote an improved understanding of electric power markets through education and collaboration for those in the ERCOT, MISO and SPP Regions. Our Objectives *To provide a means for all persons having an interest in electric power markets and emerging technologies to exchange information and ideas *To provide a forum for discussion of industry-wide commercial, technical, and policy issues *To promote a greater public understanding of competitive power markets *To give recognition to those making significant impact the power industry in the ERCOT, MISO and SPP Regions.
