About Hachette UK
Founded in 1846, we’re the second-biggest publishing group in the UK - part of Hachette Livre - with 12 divisions and over 50 imprints. Our award-winning publishing divisions include Orion; Little, Brown; John Murray Press; Hodder & Stoughton; Hachette Children’s Group; Headline; Quercus; Bookouture; Dialogue; Octopus; Hodder Education; and Paperblanks – and together, our mission is to make it easy for everyone to discover new worlds of ideas, learning, entertainment and opportunity. Our history is interwoven with the history of the world. From The Origin of Species to Jane Eyre, The Long Walk to Freedom to Heartstopper, the stories we’ve helped to share have shaped – and continue to shape – culture across the globe. We’re incredibly proud of our past, but we’re also looking to the future; knowing the stories we publish today will shape the world of tomorrow. We value and actively seek different perspectives, voices and ideas to support creativity and break new ground. You’ll find everything on our bookshelves from blockbuster fiction and insightful non-fiction to informative textbooks and vibrant children’s books. We’re proud to publish thousands of new books every year, and our authors include Brit Bennett, Candice Carty-Williams, Martina Cole, Michael Connelly, John Grisham, Stephen King, Stieg Larsson, Nelson Mandela, Stephenie Meyer, Maggie O’Farrell, Delia Owens, Ian Rankin, J.K. Rowling, Colson Whitehead, and Malala Yousafzai. We’ve also got puzzles, gifts, and games, are the market leader in e-books, and even publish a range of bestsellers in audio format - the fastest-growing part of our business! Today, as well as our London HQ, we have five national offices across the UK, and a major distribution centre in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Around the world, our other regions include Australia, India, Ireland, Jamaica and New Zealand; offering you more choices than ever when it comes to finding the right location for you.
