About The NHS Health Economics Unit
We are the NHS Health Economics Unit, an NHS organisation hosted by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. We help leaders make better, data-driven decisions in health and care, across the public and private sectors, locally and internationally. - Bringing economic thinking to bear on the strategic challenges faced by health and care services - Assessing the likely (business case stage) and/or realised value (evaluation stage) of interventions/service changes/investment strategies by deploying budget impact, cost benefit, cost effectiveness and cost utility analyses - The application of econometrics to observational studies, causality analysis and predictive analysis - Health Technology Assessments and Integrated Impact Assessments - Developing the understanding of and real-world applicability/reliability of ‘impactability analysis’ at both individual and population levels - Advancing the application of machine learning and AI in addressing PHM challenges - Helping build the skills and understanding of these methods across the analytical and leadership communities of the NHS through provision of education activities and development of tools
