About Health Innovation South West

We are a health innovation network, working at the centre of the South West’s innovation ecosystem. We play a connecting and catalytic role, helping find, test and prepare solutions for some of the NHS’s greatest challenges. Working in partnership across sectors, we drive progress against national and local priorities to improve health and care services, health outcomes, and drive economic growth. The region’s rural and coastal demography, distance, and sparseness present distinct and significant challenges. As a place-based innovation organisation we’re embedded as a partner within the health system. Using our knowledge and expertise to ensure solutions work for this distinct context. We’re making real progress. From scaling up GPs use of AI to predict the risk of hospital admissions to testing new approaches in coastal towns to improve early detection of cancer. The South West Peninsula’s reputation is growing as a potential innovation testbed for developing health solutions for rural and coastal populations and contributing to economic growth.
