About Heartwood Village

We are beginning the process of building our committee and working toward the first stages of our nonprofit community, working closely with Brookwood in Brookshire, Texas to model our program similarly to theirs. Heartwood Village is an inclusive community where adults with special needs come together in a safe, loving G-d influenced, culturally sensitive environment to connect, grow and thrive. Our residents and community members serve as collaborators, leaders and advocates. They foster meaningful relationships while contributing to a shared vision of personal and professional growth by giving back and understanding their important role in the world. Heartwood Village was created in response to the significant lack of meaningful, high-quality programs and residential options for adults with special needs. The founders envisioned a place where adults with special needs could live, grow, work, and build community in an environment centered on dignity and purpose.
