The HF Holidays story began in 1913 when country pastor turned social innovator Thomas Arthur Leonard offered walking holidays as an alternative to the annual seaside trend that had gripped the working classes. Over 100 years later, his vision for escapism and exploration in the countryside is very much our reality. Run as a co-operative society, we are the UK’s largest walking and outdoor travel company. We offer a wide range of walking and special interest holidays on six continents. We also own and manage 16 UK country houses, all with long and storied histories. Our success is down to our 40,000 members and 500-strong employees, for whom friendship, fellowship, and fresh air form the basis of our operations. For us, it’s always been about trust, collaboration, exceptional experiences, ownership, inspiration, passion, and fun - and these core values continue to drive us to this day.
