About Houston Minority Supplier Development Council

Established in 1973, the HMSDC is a non-profit organization for minority businesses and major corporations interested in establishing relationships with minority entrepreneurs and helping them to successfully grow their businesses. Included in the membership of HMSDC are more than 220 major corporations and more than 900 minority businesses. For more than 25 years, the HMSDC has been servicing the needs of both minority business enterprises (MBEs) and major corporations in the Houston area that are committed to the expansion of procurement and business opportunities for minority businesses of all sizes. HMSDC is the certifying arm for minority businesses interested in doing business with major corporations. The Council's certification is recognized by most major corporations, the City of Houston, HISD, the Port of Houston and the State of Texas, HMSDC is one of 39 regional affiliates of the National Minority Supplier Development Council. Through this affiliation, HMSDC provides information on national business opportunities to its members.
