The International Association of Dental Specialists (iADS) is an organization created by specialists for specialists. Through its robust website, theiads.org, it allows specialists to: • Share ideas • Obtain the results of research and product reviews targeted to specialists • Develop mentoring relationships • Educate the public about what we do • Discuss specialty practice management The very popular iADS Forum—A Membership Exclusive There are iADS members who will answer your questions. When specialists have questions within their specialty or when they seek interdisciplinary advice, they get input from specialists around the world using the iADS Forum, available exclusively to members. iADS serves you throughout your career. Rather than just “asking around” and getting a small sampling of opinions on topics such as buying new products, staffing issues, or marketing, iADS members tap into a large network and learn from the experience of others. iADS regularly offers CE courses online that meet the needs of specialists. Getting the dental specialists’ message out to the public: Dental specialists worldwide have tremendous expertise. A key iADS goal is to let the public know how dental specialists are uniquely qualified to meet their needs. Where we came from and where we are going: Over fifteen years ago, when Dr. Alan Farber, a periodontist in Long Island, wanted to communicate with other specialists, he created a ListServ that grew to over 400 members with 28,000 posts.
