The IEO European Institute of Oncology is a Research Hospital (IRCCS) dedicated to the treatment of cancer. At IEO the different areas for the fight against cancer: laboratory research, clinical research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and education are fully integrated. The Institute has implemented a new standard in the treatment of cancer by making the patient, rather than the disease, the center of its mission (patient’s centrality). Thanks to the prompt transfer of new results from research to clinical activity, the IEO has abandoned traditional therapies based on the maximum tolerated procedure, to apply innovative methods which ensures equal effectiveness with minimal damage to the person.
