About Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM)
The Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) is the largest superspecialized clinical and scientific research center in the Czech Republic. For more than 45 years it has been focusing on the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, organ transplantation, diabetology and the treatment of metabolic disorders with the catchment of the whole Czech Republic. IKEM consists of 4 professional centers, 8 clinics and 15 specialized workplaces, bases and laboratories. From a total of 1,700 workers, more than 300 are physicians and 600 nurses. A total of 315 beds are available, of which 111 are located in intensive care units.
