Mycelium-Based Applications for the Horticulture Market
About Illuminature
Illuminature is a Dutch biomaterials technology company developing mycelium-based alternatives to fossil-based plastics for horticulture. Our first product is a biodegradable plant pot, grown in days from local agricultural residual streams and fungal mycelium. The pot is designed to meet the operational demands of professional horticulture: performance under real-world growing conditions, compatibility with existing machinery, and a clean return to soil at end of life. Our work combines biomaterial innovation, R&D and practical industry fit to create products that support both operational performance and better end-of-life outcomes. We believe biomaterials can succeed in horticulture when they meet the industry on its own terms — operationally, economically, and at scale. We are interested in connecting with growers, manufacturers, biomaterials partners, investors, and strategic collaborators shaping the future of circular horticulture.
