About INESC-ID
INESC-ID is a leading, private, non-profit Portuguese research institute advancing R&D+i in Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering. Our mission is to create value for people and society by contributing to public policy responses to health, environmental, cultural, social, economic and political challenges through research and innovation. Founded in 1999 and granted Public Interest status, INESC-ID has been an Associate Laboratory of the Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education since 2004. Jointly owned by Instituto Superior Técnico and INESC, we combine scientific excellence with advanced training and the transfer of knowledge and technology. Our work is guided by four Thematic Lines: Societal Digital Transformation, Life and Health Technology, Energy Transition, and Security and Privacy. Home to over 800 researchers, students, and staff, INESC-ID conducts R&D+i across 10 scientific areas in Portugal and internationally.
