The WorldOS is a framework for rethinking how our world is coordinated, governed and sustained in an era of exponential change. While technology, science and markets have accelerated into the 21st century, many of our institutions and decision-making systems still operate on outdated assumptions. The WorldOS proposes a shared operating logic that aligns humanity, institutions, markets and the environment within a coherent structure. At its core, the framework is built on three pillars: a Beacon of Values that defines who we choose to be, the decisions that shape what we choose to do, and the speed and infrastructure required to execute. Together, these elements create a practical lens for navigating complexity across individuals, organizations, cities and nations. A key feature of the WorldOS is “prysmic thinking”: the idea that finite problems can be refracted into a spectrum of possibilities. Inspired by Maslow’s understanding of human motivation, this approach expands basic needs into broader contributions such as legacy, momentum, focus and collective impact. The shift is from reacting within systems to designing the systems themselves. The Institute of Operating Systems of the World brings together explorers from government, business, technology and civil society to prototype this framework in practice. Through convenings, research and real-world collaboration, the goal is to create shared language, incentives and structures that support sustainable coordination at planetary scale.
