About Intelligent Nudge in Education (NudgEd)
Changing the Landscape of Academic Publishing, One Article at a Time. NudgEd in built on four principles to address structural challenges in the current scholarly publishing ecosystem: First, we believe that peer review and editorial work should not rely solely on voluntary labor. Reviewing and editorial oversight require expertise, time, and accountability. Our model, therefore, includes direct monetary compensation for reviewers, editors, guest editors, and operational staff who contribute to maintaining publication quality and integrity. Second, the journal will operate as a fully open-access publication venue without article processing charges (APCs). Publication costs will be covered internally by the founding team, allowing authors to benefit from open-access visibility and dissemination without financial barriers. Third, we aim to broaden the range of research outputs that can be published. We are not interested exclusively in positive findings. Null, negative, and inconclusive results are equally important for scientific progress. Authors will have the opportunity to publish companion papers documenting unsuccessful or inconclusive experiments alongside successful studies. Both outputs will receive DOIs and be fully visible and citable. We also encourage replication studies, recognizing that reproducibility is a cornerstone of scientific advancement. By providing a dedicated venue for high-quality replication research, we hope to strengthen the reliability of the evidence base and promote greater transparency and rigor. Finally, our advisory structure extends beyond academia. In addition to scholars, we intentionally involve leaders from government, industry, NGOs, think tanks, philosophy, and the arts. Our goal is to draw on diverse forms of expertise to better understand the future of education in the age of AI and to strengthen collaboration across academia, industry, and government. Join our community as an author, reviewer, and/or editor.
