About Junior Achievement of Nevada
The purpose of Junior Achievement, founded in Massachusetts in 1919, is to empower young people to own their economic success. It's not an easy task, but it's the kind of challenge that JA takes on with creative energy and decisive action. With the support of positive adult role models who volunteer their time, JA enables students to understand business, citizenship, economics, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, ethics/character, and work readiness. The programs also encourage confidence and motivate young people to achieve their personal, educational, and career goals. These learning experiences establish the foundation upon which today's students can acquire the skills and attitudes necessary to succeed in a fast-changing world.
