Earthshot 2025 nominee, KENOTEQ specialises in the development and delivery of highly sustainable building products, made from recycled construction and demolition materials. We have circular economy, closed loop thinking at our core. The ultra low-carbon K-BRIQ is revolutionising brick production using recycled construction and demolition waste in a waste-free, low energy production process which does not involve firing. The K-BRIQ has now achieved construction product certification by the British Board of Agrement in the UK and through DrJ in the USA. The K-BRIQ is made from over 95% recycled materials, with an enviable low carbon footprint, with 95% less embodied carbon than a traditional clay brick. KENOTEQ is headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK but has patents with a view to international expansion in coming years under license and franchise, providing a local construction product which would be made from local construction and demolition waste. The K-BRIQ and K-SLIP are now commercially available at scale. KENOTEQ is looking for pioneering early adopters and specifiers keen to adopt one of the most sustainable construction units on the market.
