LOWA Sportschuhe GmbH creates beautifully engineered footwear in the mountaineering, outdoor and everyday segments. With more than 100 years of German engineering expertise, the LOWA brand is revered by anyone who finds freedom in being outdoors – from casual hikers and performance athletes to urban explorers. What began in 1923 in a small village in Bavaria as a production of handmade traditional leather shoes, is now a globally respected company selling in 80 countries, and a leading brand in the outdoor footwear sector in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Since 1993, the company has been majority-owned by the Italian Tecnica Group, but still headquartered where it was founded – in Jetzendorf, near Munich. True to its roots, LOWA manufactures almost exclusively in Europe. The company is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation.
