Over the past 45 years, Lowe has developed, acquired or managed more than $28 billion of real estate assets. Lowe is currently responsible for more than $8 billion of commercial, hospitality and residential assets nationwide. Through its hospitality management subsidiary, the firm currently oversees the management of more than 17,500 hotel rooms/units nationwide. Founded in 1972 by Chairman Robert J. Lowe, the firm has an executive staff of 215 and a total employment of over 17,000. Lowe is owned by a group of employee and retired employee shareholders, twenty-nine of which are active in the firm. Lowe's executives are experienced in a wide array of property types. Their backgrounds include investment, management, development, finance, law, property management, marketing, planning, and construction. Virtually all of Lowe’s senior executives have considerable hands-on experience working at the property level.
