About Make-A-Wish® Maine
Make-A-Wish Maine creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, bringing hope, strength, and joy to families across all 16 counties of the state. Since its founding in 1992, the chapter has granted more than 2,000 wishes, each designed to replace fear with confidence and sadness with joy. As part of the nation’s largest wish-granting organization, Make-A-Wish Maine is driven by a bold vision: to grant the wish of every eligible child. Each wish experience is more than a moment—it provides renewed energy for children, strengthens families, and unites communities in meaningful ways. Today, a dedicated network of 250+ volunteers helps make these wish experiences possible. On average, Make-A-Wish Maine grants an average of one wish every four days. With an average wish cost of $8,500, every dollar raised helps bring a child closer to experiencing the power of a wish. Through the support of donors, partners, and volunteers, Make-A-Wish Maine continues to transform lives—one wish at a time.
