Estate Wines & Traditional Balsamic Vinegars of Modena
About Manicardi
Some stories begin with a business. This one began with a gesture of love. In the 1980s, Enzo Manicardi purchased vineyards in the hills of Castelvetro di Modena with a simple ambition: to create a wine his wife would truly enjoy. What started as a personal project soon became something much greater, an agricultural estate where wine and balsamic vinegar could express the same land, the same values and the same family vision. The estate cultivates its own vineyards, growing Lambrusco Grasparossa, Grechetto Gentile and Trebbiano Modenese according to a philosophy rooted in respect for nature and the rhythms of the land. These grapes are used both for the estate's wines and for the cooked grape must from which its finest balsamic vinegars begin their journey. In the winery, every harvest reflects the character of the vintage. In the traditional acetaia, time slowly transforms grape must into Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PDO and Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI, matured in wooden barrels according to Modena's centuries-old tradition. With the third generation of the Manicardi family now entering the business, the estate continues to evolve while remaining faithful to the idea that inspired its beginnings: sharing the culture, hospitality and flavours of Emilia-Romagna through products that speak authentically of their origin.
