Taking a stance against bad art | The world needs more artists.
About Megan Gonyo
Megan Gonyo is a Minneapolis-based artist specializing in large-format, modern abstract works. Her work is featured in the permanent collection of the Four Seasons Private Residences Minneapolis, Forte on the Park, Vogue, Architectural Digest, and another 80 client homes across the United States, including New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, and Kansas City. Megan also works with interior designers, home stagers, art consultants, and realtors to give personality to luxury real estate listings that bring in higher offers and sell quickly. Her other brand is Palais Fashion (www.palaisfashion.com) where you can find wearable art and art prints. Taking a stance against bad art, Palais Fashion backs a philosophy that the only "bad" art is the art that is safe, uninspiring, and unchallenging. It's the elevator music unafraid to offend anyone. Bad art is cheap, highly commercialized, and most typically seen decorating the walls of your dentist's office. When art is made for everyone, it inspires no one. But often artists find themselves in an unfortunate situation where they are forced to create art that other people want so they can pay the bills. Hire an artist for their style, not to replicate something you saw in a magazine for cheaper. Let's prove to the world that real art is unique, born from a flow state, and represents a moment in time and an experience that can never be replicated in the same way again. This is what creates value, and this is what makes the world a richer place.
