About MentorKids USA
MentorKids USA equips and empowers K–12 youth to grow as transformative leaders in their lives, their families, and their communities. Our model is built on a simple conviction: lasting growth happens through consistency. Through our Promise Neighborhood model, students across the Phoenix metro receive year-round academic support, spiritual growth, leadership development, and consistent mentorship — not as a seasonal program, but as a long-term commitment to their development over time. Each Promise Neighborhood is anchored by a full-time Neighborhood Manager and supported by trained volunteers, local churches, schools, corporate partners, and committed donors. That consistency is the foundation everything else is built on. Where We Serve MentorKids currently serves students across six Promise Neighborhoods: South Phoenix, Maryvale, Palomino, Paiute, Tempe, and Sunnyslope. By the Numbers 1,200+ youth served annually 12:1 student-to-mentor ratio 83% of alumni return to mentor, intern, or serve 100% on-time graduation for the Class of 2025 5,000+ student community service hours each year Our Model Academic Support — tutoring, literacy, STEM, and homework help Leadership Development — iLEAD student leadership pathway, teen internships, mentoring, and service Spiritual Growth — faith-rooted character formation and life skills As students grow, they are invited to lead. Through iLEAD — our high school leadership pathway — students who were once mentored become mentors themselves, tutoring younger students and serving their neighborhoods. That cycle of leadership is what "Building Leaders Who Build Leaders" looks like in practice. MentorKids partners with individuals, churches, businesses, foundations, and community leaders who believe in long-term investment — because that's what produces real, lasting change.
