About Mercy Rains Africa

Mercy Rains Africa was formed by a small group of friends and family that share a desire to make a difference in the Kisoro district of Africa. Most of the team have been involved over the years with Compassion International, a child sponsorship program. Through Compassion International, a wonderful relationship emerged with a formerly sponsored child, Gilbert Mfitundinda. Gilbert felt blessed by his opportunity as a sponsored child, as an adult chose to dedicate his life to building up his community. He founded Love Restoration to provide education, health and nutrition to children in his home village. Mercy Rains Africa will work with Love Restoration. Together we can make a difference. Our goal over the next couple of years is to complete: the current three-room primary school structure, create new classrooms for additional grade levels, obtain necessary school supplies, provide an office/living space for the administrator, set up a medical fund, nutrition program and discipleship. The Mercy Rains team intends to build relationships within the community so we can continue to work along side of the village for years to come.
