Mill Village
Operational excellence and performance improvement in distribution and supply chain. Direct, and inside partner firms.
About Mill Village
Mill Village is an operations practice for distribution and supply chain. The work sits where performance is made or lost: a site that isn't hitting the numbers its design assumed, an improvement program that stalled, a network where one building performs and the rest don't. Two lanes. One builds the operating system and the people who run it. The other goes after a defined problem and captures the value in it. Operational excellence - Lean daily management, kaizen facilitator training and coaching, and Lean tools training, so the operation keeps improving after everyone goes home. Performance improvement - process discovery and improvement-pipeline development, chartered kaizen events, and scoped project work, with the measurement agreed with Finance before the work starts. They connect: discovery finds and sizes the work, trained facilitators and chartered events capture it, and daily management holds the gains and surfaces the next round. Each also stands alone. Mill Village works direct with operators, and as a subcontracted resource inside design, engineering, and advisory firms' engagements - on the operations side of what they design and advise. Not layout, not automation selection, not WMS selection or systems integration. The practice is led by Steve Simard, an operations executive with more than twenty-five years in distribution and supply chain - running multi-site networks and deploying operational excellence across the U.S. and Canada, with engagements in China and Thailand. An operator's perspective with the tool set of someone experienced in Lean and process improvement: quick to see where the opportunity is, and grounded enough operationally and financially to help a team turn it into real value. Based in Francestown, New Hampshire. National travel.
