About Mureva

Mureva Phototherapy is a medical device company on a mission to lighten the burden of oral mucositis, one of the most debilitating side effects of cancer treatment. Our flagship device, Mureva OM™, is the first FDA-authorized intraoral photobiomodulation (PBM) device to lower the severity of radiation-induced oral mucositis in patients receiving radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. It delivers guideline-recommended PBM in a standardized 10-minute daily treatment that fits within the existing radiation oncology workflow, without changing radiation delivery. Oral mucositis affects the vast majority of head and neck cancer patients during radiation. When severe, it can make eating and swallowing impossible, lead to feeding tubes, and interrupt cancer treatment. PBM has been guideline-recommended for over 20 years, but delivering it in routine care hasn't been practical. Mureva was built to change that. Our pivotal trial, a randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled study across 12 U.S. cancer centers, is published in Supportive Care in Cancer (2026). Mureva OM previously received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation, and the company is preparing for U.S. commercial launch.
