The New Haven Parking Authority (NHPA) is a public authority responsible for managing parking, transportation assets, and key real estate that support mobility, economic activity, and access throughout the City of New Haven. NHPA operates and maintains a diverse portfolio that includes parking garages and surface lots, on-street parking systems, EV charging infrastructure, and the Union Station Campus—one of Connecticut’s busiest transportation hubs and a gateway to downtown New Haven. In addition to parking operations, NHPA manages retail and commercial spaces, supports transit-oriented development, and works to activate public spaces in ways that strengthen the city’s economy and quality of life. Our work extends beyond parking. NHPA partners with the City of New Haven, transit agencies, community organizations, and the private sector to advance sustainable transportation, improve customer experience, and align infrastructure investment with broader goals around climate, equity, and urban vitality.
