About NovaUCD

NovaUCD, is the hub of innovation and start-up activities at University College Dublin and is one of Europe's leading start-up hubs. Since 2003, NovaUCD has supported 550+ companies and early-stage ventures and the NovaUCD entrepreneurial community has raised €1.3+ billion in equity funding. Seventy new UCD spin-out companies have been incorporated; 1,165+ inventions have been disclosed; 370+ priority patent applications have been filed and 320+ licensing deals have been concluded with a range of indigenous and international businesses. 220+ consultancy projects have been concluded since 2017. Start-ups include companies which spin-out from UCD's research programmes or companies which spin-in and locate at NovaUCD in order to collaborate with and benefit from engagement with the university. UCD’s knowledge transfer team, which is responsible for the commercialisation of intellectual property arising from research and other knowledge-intensive activity at UCD, is also based at NovaUCD. ConsultUCD, the university's managed consultancy service, which has been established to facilitate access and support the engagement between business, industry and UCD is also based at NovaUCD. NovaUCD also manages NexusUCD, the university's industry partnership centre and the AgTechUCD Innovation Centre based at UCD Lyons Farm in Co. Kildare. Since 2003 NovaUCD has developed an excellent and expanded infrastructure and a suite of comprehensive business support programmes, dedicated accelerator programmes, including programmes for students, and an ecosystem of mentors, investors and industry partners that help to nurture an enthusiastic and dynamic community of start-ups and established companies, to grow and scale on the global stage. NovaUCD was established in 2003 with the support of the NovaUCD founding sponsors; AMD; AIB Bank, Arthur Cox, Deloitte, Enterprise Ireland, Ericsson, Goodbody Stockbrokers, and UCD.
