NovusTex is a biotechnology platform company developing engineered human tissue systems for improving the preclinical drug development pipeline. Our mission is to build standardized, biologically relevant human tissue platforms that help pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations (CRO’s), biotech companies, and academic researchers generate more predictive clinical data while reducing translational uncertainty. Our initial commercial focus is NasalCart, a research use only engineered human nasal tissue platform designed to support intranasal drug development through formulation screening, tissue interaction studies, local tolerance assessment, formulation device assessment, and translational assay development. By providing a more physiologically relevant drug testing platform, we endeavour to complement existing preclinical workflows and enable better informed R&D decisions. At NovusTex, we combine advances in biomaterials, tissue engineering, biofabrication, and translational medicine with capital efficient commercialization strategy built around strategic manufacturing partnerships, early customer validation, and scalable product development. While our first application addresses unmet need in intranasal therapeutics, our long-term vision is to establish a portfolio of standardized engineered human tissue platforms that accelerate pharmaceutical innovation, reducing the bench-to-bedside timeline, supporting the future of regenerative medicine. This vision is aligned with the growing global momentum towards the adoption of Newer Approach Methodologies (NAM’s) for optimizing the drug development pipeline. Recent initiatives from the FDA together with NIH’s Office of Research Innovation, Validation, and Application (ORIVA) reinforce our company’s vision towards building standardized engineered human tissue platforms for creating safer, and cheaper drugs with a faster translational timeline.
