OLEC Technology
Light-emitting surfaces for the next generation of products.
About OLEC Technology
What if the surface itself could be the light source? OLEC Technology is developing a new generation of light-emitting materials designed to enable thin, lightweight, flexible and transparent light-emitting surfaces. Unlike conventional LEDs, which are point light sources and require additional components to create uniform illumination, OLEC technology is designed to generate light directly across the surface. This could open new possibilities where conventional lighting is limited by shape, weight, thickness or complexity - from automotive and architecture to medical and other advanced applications. Our technology is based on Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells (LECs), originating from years of scientific research in Latvia and now being developed towards scalable industrial applications. By using materials and manufacturing processes that can be developed and scaled in Europe, our ambition is also to enable European production of light-emitting technology and reduce dependence on Asian supply chains. We are currently improving the technology's performance, stability and manufacturability on the path towards commercial applications. Our goal is simple: make light part of the surface itself.
