Origin Medical
Advancing maternal health equity through improved access and quality of prenatal care
About Origin Medical
Every 4.5 minutes, a baby is born with a birth defect in the United States. Unfortunately, many of these defects go undetected during prenatal scans, at a time when they are still easily treatable. This is caused by limited access to maternal care, the complexity of the defects, and the range of accuracy produced by the subjective interpretation of ultrasound imaging. Furthermore, this issue is exacerbated by a global shortage of maternal healthcare providers, particularly in rural areas. We are on a mission to solve that by advancing and democratizing the highest standard of prenatal ultrasounds through our proprietary AI. Our technology harnesses the power of AI to support a broad spectrum of healthcare providers in rural and urban communities, allowing them to practice at the top of their licenses. With AI in the imaging workflow, clinicians can more confidently deliver timely interventions, enhance pregnancy outcomes, identify high-risk pregnancies to reduce maternal mortality, and significantly lower infant mortality rates.
