About Orthios Innovations, LLC

Orthios Innovations builds The Weight Bear®, a positioning platform for foot and ankle surgery. It sits on the OR table, holds the foot in a loaded position, and frees the surgeon's hands to operate. What it does: A retractable loading plate brings the foot to 90 degrees and other surgical angles and holds there on its own. Access windows let surgeons operate through it during TTC nailing and calcaneal fixation while the foot stays aligned. Radiolucent, so it does not show on x-rays. Autoclavable for every case. Why it exists: For 30 years there was no standard for simulated weight-bearing in the OR. A resident holds the foot for two hours, or someone pushes on it with whatever sterile object is in reach. The foot shifts, pressure changes, and every image comes out different. The Weight Bear holds one position from first incision to final image. Who it serves: Foot and ankle orthopedic surgeons and surgical podiatrists who want repeatable imaging and a stable loaded foot without a second person holding it. Also supports simulated weight-bearing CT in radiology. What makes it different: A positioning platform, not just a weight-bearing tool. The access windows let surgeons operate through it. Radiolucent, autoclavable, reusable. Patent pending.
