OVI Ventures is a seed-stage investment firm focused on the drone industry: aircraft, autonomy and mission software, components, and the defense and public-safety missions they fly. We go narrow on purpose. Drones are the one category where the demand signal, the procurement shift, and the supply-chain rebuild are all happening at once, and where a seed investor who has actually built inside the industry can tell the difference between a demo and a deployable system. What we back Platforms and autonomy: airframes from FPV-class expendables to long-endurance ISR, and the flight autonomy, GPS-denied navigation, and swarm orchestration that turn an aircraft into a mission. Components and supply chain: motors, power, communications, sensors, and manufacturing, the trusted, allied-sourced building blocks the industry is short of. Defense and counter-UAS: systems built for the new procurement reality, attritable, mass-produced, and software-defined. Public safety and operations: drone-as-first-responder, fleet orchestration, and the software that turns aircraft into a deployable program for cities and utilities. How we invest Pre-seed and seed. Our founding partner was one of the first three business leaders at Brinc Drones, serving as VP of Strategy and Design for more than four years, and works at the intersection of US drone founders and Korean industry: suppliers, manufacturing partners, and certification pathways.
