Redefining Equity. Reclaiming Native Sovereignty. Together.
About Oweesta Corporation
Oweesta Corporation is the longest-standing Native CDFI intermediary, dedicated to empowering Native CDFIs, Tribes, and Native-led nonprofits across the nation. For more than 25 years, we have provided training, technical assistance, direct investments, research, and advocacy to strengthen the financial ecosystems that Native communities themselves design and lead. At our core, we believe finance is not just about capital — it is about sovereignty, dignity, and the future of our peoples. We walk alongside Native communities — including Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian Nations — as they build the institutions and tools needed to create wealth, foster resilience, and ensure future generations can thrive on their homelands. Through our work, Native CDFIs are empowered to provide access to the financial services our communities have historically been denied: job creation, small business development, commercial real estate, affordable housing, homeownership, and culturally relevant financial education. We are committed to reversing generations of economic exclusion, ensuring Native families and Nations have the resources to pursue self-determined futures. Our Guiding Belief: When armed with the appropriate resources, Native peoples hold the capacity and ingenuity to ensure the sustainable economic, spiritual, and cultural well-being of their communities.
