Inspired by a one-eyed rescue dog named Pearl, Polkadog was launched in 2002 by Deb Suchman and Rob Van Sickle with the goal of bringing simple, healthy dog treats to their local community in Boston’s South End. Over the past twenty years they have expanded to 10 Polkadog retail stores in the greater Boston area as well as one in Rhode Island. Polkadog developed a national presence when the company started wholesaling the first Cod Skins to be launched in the pet industry. Since then Polkadog has continued to innovate and launch additional single-ingredient and limited ingredient treats which can be found in every state in the U.S. as well as in Canada, Korea, and Mexico. Polkadog's treats are handcrafted in their Boston Fish Pier kitchen, and the company is committed to sustainable and transparent sourcing.
