About Possums

Possums is a certified Australian social enterprise helping families resolve breastfeeding, sleep, unsettled baby and parent emotional wellbeing challenges. We promote children's healthy attachment and development, and avoid unnecessary interventions. Possums offers online education and training for both parents and professionals in Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC or The Possums Programs). NDC treats early life as an interconnected ecosystem and works with evolutionary biology, not against it. We offer heart-centred, evidence-based programs and training that support parent emotional wellbeing and children’s healthy attachment and development, while avoiding unnecessary interventions. NDC (Possums) is built from Dr Pamela Douglas' 30+ peer-reviewed research papers. Positive outcomes have been shown effective in 10 university studies so far. Our professional training branch, The NDC Institute, has around 800 active members as of February 2026. Around 450 of those are registered health professionals. Since 2011, Possums has helped over 10,000+ families and trained thousands of professionals worldwide.
