Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN)
The independent, government-mandated source of information on private healthcare in the UK.
About Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN)
The Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN)'s vision is that 'Everyone can make confident choices about their healthcare to get the best outcomes'. PHIN is the Competition and Market Authority’s (CMA) appointed independent ‘Information Organisation’ (IO). This appointment follows the CMA’s investigation into Private Healthcare (further details found on the CMA’s website). We have a legal mandate to gather and publish performance information regarding all hospitals and consultants providing private treatment. We act as an online source of independent and trustworthy information, ensuring patients using private healthcare can compare and choose between both hospitals and consultants. PHIN works closely with hospitals and consultant representatives to ensure the information we publish is fair, robust and comparable to that about NHS services, wherever possible. We are not a regulator and are committed to helping all private healthcare providers communicate the scope and quality of the care that they provide. Prior to the CMA investigation, PHIN was established and funded voluntarily by our members, a range of private and independent healthcare providers. A full list of our members can be found on our website. For further information, please contact us at info@phin.org.uk For PHIN news, follow us on Twitter, @PHIN_UK, and here on LinkedIn.
