Roost is a privacy-first directory for schools, PTOs, HOAs, and other membership communities. Most directories treat your contact info as something to collect, export, and forget. Roost is built the opposite way. Every family decides exactly what they share and who can see it, and those choices are enforced at the data layer — not left to a setting nobody trusts. It's also built around people instead of yearly spreadsheets, so the roster carries forward from one year to the next. No more re-typing the whole school every fall, no more chasing down who moved up a grade. Roost started with one elementary school and a simple frustration: the existing tools were either a privacy liability or an annual data-entry chore, and usually both.
