salty (SAWL-tee) adj. A seasoned one, a salt of the earth sort, wise beyond their years, who is earthy, witty, and able to kick some ass should it become necessary. —Urban Dictionary (2026) This group exists to lift up and sustain social workers in their pre-req, educational, early, mid, and late career journeys. We drink tea, wear cardigans, and have deep conversations. Events center on raising funds for BSW and MSW student scholarships, continuing education, and early career business start-up costs. We have a goal to have a fund for colleagues in need due to disaster, illness, or other unexpected challenges. The goal of this space is to be warm and inviting with a touch of dry humor, sarcastic banter, and enthusiastic but critical support for our profession. We are an early stage start-up professional organization. We focus on supporting social workers (and allied professionals/humans) to achieve their personal and professional goals. We have fun and stay healthy while doing it. We challenge and heal from burnout, martyr, and poverty consciousness culture that exploits our skilled labor. In collaboration with an amazing and hilarious team of volunteers, I provide vision and strategic direction to move this profession towards a more sustainable future.
