Building an impactful HR community in Scotland
About Scottish HR Leadership Group
The Scottish HR Leadership Group (SHRLG) was founded in 2018 to create a strong, connected, and future-focused HR community in Scotland. Our purpose is to bring the Scottish HR community together to share experience, exchange ideas, and collectively shape the future of work. We operate through two boards that work in partnership: 🔹 The Expert Advisory Board (EAB): Senior HR leaders from across sectors who provide strategic direction, thought leadership, and mentoring. They advise and guide the Operating Board, ensuring SHRLG’s work reflects both the needs of the profession and the wider business community. 🔹 The Operating Board (OB): a diverse group of HR leaders who design and deliver SHRLG’s programme of activity. They drive forward our annual plan, create impactful events and discussions, and lead workstreams focused on topics that we know are of interest and impactful for the wider Scottish HR Community. Together, the SHRLG aim to: 🌟 Develop Scotland’s pipeline of HR leaders through CPD and mentoring 🌟 Strengthen HR’s capability, visibility, and impact in organisations 🌟 Provide thought leadership and insight into the key people and business challenges facing Scotland 🌟 Foster collaboration and connections across sectors and industries Over the last year, SHRLG has: ✔ Hosted our third annual conference with 120 HR leaders exploring people and performance ✔ Delivered quarterly panel sessions and a series of webinars on topics from AI to talent retention ✔ Facilitated virtual discussions and networking opportunities to build capability and share practical solutions We are a network, run by volunteer HR leaders, united by a shared ambition: to build an impactful HR community in Scotland.
