About Shield Ranch

At Shield Ranch, stewarding and protecting Texas ecosystems is our solemn purpose. Our three ranches encompass 37,000 acres of sustainably managed wildlands in Central and West Texas. The Shield Ranch Foundation, our nonprofit entity, supports Camp El Ranchito and community nature-immersion programs at its new sustainably-built Campsite at Shield Ranch. To support our ambitious land management program, we partner with renowned conservation organizations and provide transformative nature-immersion experiences for Texans. Our state is growing. Our communities are expanding. And truly wild places are becoming increasingly rare. But together, we can ensure Shield Ranch will stay wild for good. Our Vision: Shield Ranch will always be a protected wildland; a place to share, a place to connect and a place to protect. Our Mission: To steward and share Shield Ranch in ways that educate, inspire and transform. To achieve this mission, we: • Restore the land through the practice of land stewardship • Protect the land and its resources through advocacy and engagement in regional issues • Facilitate research and education • Offer a diverse array of educational programs and nature immersion experiences • Practice sustainable agriculture and provide healthy food to neighbors and local markets
