About Spiral Skills CIO
At Spiral Skills, we envision a world where every young person has the opportunity to develop their essential skills, connect with opportunities and feel empowered to make a difference in their communities. We work to ensure every young person is excited about their future, motivated to make it a reality, and equipped with the essential skills they need to thrive. Spiral is an innovative career programme working with London's young people to build confidence, raise aspirations and develop work relevant skills. A social enterprise based in Lambeth, Spiral was born in response to stubbornly high youth unemployment rates. Through our background in youth work and teaching, we witnessed the barriers young people were facing to the world of work, and aim to break them down. What does Spiral do? - SPIRAL BUILDS WORK RELEVANT SKILLS Because of the skills gap, employers are struggling to find good candidates whilst young people are not being equipped with work relevant skills or confidence to find good jobs. -SPIRAL CONNECTS EMPLOYERS TO SCHOOLS Because under 1/3 of employers communicate with schools, leaving young people unaware of opportunities and pathways. -SPIRAL ENGAGES YOUNG PEOPLE Because no one likes to be talked at for too long. We use work place staging and hands on learning to invigorate sessions. -SPIRAL RAISES EMOTIONAL CAPABILTIES Because self awareness and goal setting are essential to anyone's personal development. -SPIRAL SUPPORTS LOCAL COMMUNITIES Because local role models are vital for young people, yet there's often no platform for them to cross paths, leaving young people without inspiration. We work with schools, PRU's, charities and local authorities and our programme continues to grow in attendance and achieve fantastic impact.
