About Synaptec

We build the sensing that makes electrical power visible everywhere. Synaptec's Distributed Electrical Sensing (DES) platform measures current and voltage at protection-grade accuracy across entire networks, tens of kilometres from the nearest power supply, using passive optical sensors with no electronics and no power in the field. That means operators can protect and monitor circuits that conventional instruments cannot reach: subsea cables, buried urban circuits, long interconnectors, and offshore wind arrays. The result is fewer surprises, earlier warning of faults, and infrastructure operators can trust across its whole life. Our sensors are deployed on live power networks across three continents, including some of the world's largest offshore wind farms. Founded in Glasgow in 2014. We design and manufacture our patented DES technology in Scotland.
