About Cannabis Justice & Equity Initiative

New York's adult-use cannabis legalization promised the expungement of hundreds of thousands of criminal convictions for cannabis. Yet our impacted citizens, and their communities, were disproportionately justice-harmed and are not equipped to overcome the legal complexities and systemic barriers to access the resulting legal and economic opportunities to repair their lives. Our goal is to develop a skilled labor force of 1500 candidates annually coming from the communities disproportionately impacted by anti-cannabis enforcement. We assist such individuals in confirming or gaining the expungement of their cannabis convictions and addressing the impact of having been disproportionately justice involved. Via our flagship 16 week program, we strive to create a pipeline for access to employment opportunities related to the cannabis market in New York.
