About TOM Tikkun Olam Makers
TOM is a game-changing global movement of communities inspired by a bold moonshot vision of helping 250 million people by co-developing and disseminate highly affordable open-source solutions to help elderly, people living with disabilities and the poor. TOM was launched in Israel in 2015 to be a global humanitarian project. As of March 2020, TOM Communities have operated in 67 locations in 23 countries and five continents. TOM has ran 88 Makeathon and developed a pipeline of 450 TOM Solutions under development. TOM won multiple accolades: Its model was recognized in Inc, Entrepreneur and Forbes Magazines as a venture to watch in 2016-2018, and was framed as "The TEDx of Social Action." It also won first prize from the Blackstone Charitable Trust and the InnoDip Award for innovation in diplomacy.
