UK Biocentre provides end-to-end sample processing, storage and management, supporting some of the world’s most ambitious health and life science research programmes. Established by UK Biobank in 2014, we combine scientific expertise, advanced automation and purpose-built infrastructure to support samples throughout their lifecycle from receipt and high-throughput processing through to analysis, storage, retrieval and onward distribution. We work with academic, government, pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations, supporting complex research programmes ranging from thousands to millions of samples. In 2026, UK Biocentre became part of Azenta Life Sciences, expanding our capabilities and connecting our UK expertise with a global sample management network. This enables us to support international studies with greater capacity, flexibility and reach across the UK, Europe and beyond.
