About University of Tartu School of Law
The School of Law teaches law at all levels of higher education and offers BA and MA programmes both in Tartu and Tallinn. The School of Law has two English-taught MA programmes: Information Technology Law (1-year programme in Tartu) and International Law and Human Rights (2-year programme in Tallinn). The University of Tartu is the only university in Estonia to award doctorates in law. Doctoral studies take place in Tartu. The School of Law actively participates in shaping Estonia’s legal policy. The School of Law is the number one law school in Estonia and the Baltic states (rated 251-300 in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019). Its mission is to ensure the training of highly qualified lawyers and to make sure that research and development are undertaken in all areas of Estonian law. The School of Law also publishes the only Estonian law journal Juridica and its English edition Juridica International which introduces Estonian legal order and development of legal thought to foreign readers.
