About Ursimone Wietlisbach Foundation

The Ursimone Wietlisbach Foundation is a Swiss-based philanthropic foundation established in 2021 by Urs and Simone Wietlisbach. We work in Switzerland and the Mekong region to enable more people to live healthy, fulfilling and joyful lives. Our work is guided by a Total Impact approach, bringing together our investments, partnerships and actions to drive lasting, system-level change. We align impact investing, venture philanthropy, research, policy and advocacy, and targeted grantmaking behind a shared purpose. We focus on three impact areas: Health, Learning to earning and Sport. Across these areas, we invest in bold ideas and strategic partnerships that can improve well-being, expand opportunities and contribute to more inclusive and sustainable systems. Entrepreneurial thinking and long-term responsibility are central to our approach. We believe that strong financial performance and measurable impact can be achieved together when capital is intentionally aligned with purpose – and we use our experience and evidence to encourage others to move more capital towards impact.
