“An academic group at Queen Mary, CSIC Granada and Virginia Commonwealth tested serotonergic psychedelics against their non-hallucinogenic analogues. 2-bromo-LSD produced dendritogenesis, synaptogenesis and immediate-early gene induction comparable to LSD, all dependent on 5-HT2A and TrkB. It produced no head-twitch response in mice. Phosphoproteomics showed the two classes share most of their signaling response, with a small defined subset tracking with hallucinogenicity.”
