Advanced Coaching Practicum welcomed 22 internal leaders of a major blood supply organization who graduated from the Level 1 Internal Coach Training Program.

Relationship precedes results. Coaching is a powerful tool that can help transform individuals, leaders, teams and organizations. It is not a “silver bullet” and it isn’t training or advice-giving. So what is it? Coaching is a tool, that when used wisely can help reduce suffering in the world. Often, we suffer because of our own beliefs about the world. Coaching helps us distinguish what is from what we interpret it to be. This is no small feat. In my more than 26 years as a coach and more than 12 years as a Master Certified Coach, I have found that ontological coaching is one of the best methodologies to invoke transformation, innovation, joy, and possibility in people. Many of my own clients have become friends and that is a true testament to the power of coaching. I believe that “relationship precedes results” and a coaching relationship is one of its most intimate forms. Many of us are intelligent, successful human beings but we all have blind spots, ambitions that we don’t dare to undertake, or things we don’t believe are possible for ourselves. Becoming a masterful coach, we believe, is an essential skill for leaders, a critical skill for anyone that wants to achieve great things in the world, and a fundamental skill if we are to leave the world a better place. We believe that helping more people become very skillful at coaching will help not only change our students but can change the world.
