Akelos Inc is testing a non opioid non addictive drug for chronic pain

Akelos Inc. is a biopharmaceutical clinical company focused on the translation of innovative science into treatment. Akelos has proudly entered into a research collaboration to develop and commercialize a novel, non-opioid anti-hyperalgesic drug to treat chronic and neuropathic pain. Akelos holds an exclusive worldwide license with Columbia University and Cornell University and is working in collaboration with Weill Cornell Medicine. Researchers at Weill Cornell University and Columbia University have developed novel compounds for the treatment of neuropathic pain, resulting in intellectual property that is jointly owned by Cornell and Columbia. Akelos has licensed this intellectual property and is developing a treatment for neuropathic pain using the novel compounds.
